The Marquette County, Michigan, Stories of the Pandemic is a collaborative project initiated by Northern Michigan University, the Peter White Public Library, and the Marquette Regional History Center. The Project seeks to document and curate the experiences of individuals, families, and organizations (business, schools, local government, civic groups) living and working in Marquette County, Michigan, as they deal with the COVID-19 pandemic.
NMU is hosting and managing the Project’s website and will curate material for use by the public and researchers for decades to come.
Individuals, families, and organizations maintain create records that document their experiences with the Pandemic. We hope they will participate in this project by proactively identifying and saving relevant digital material, such as correspondence, journals and diary entries, photographs, audio recordings, and moving images of their experiences during the Pandemic. The Project provides an online mechanism to maintain and share this information with the entire Marquette County community.
