Overview: Students will examine how individuals set out to inform their local community of a proposed project that would impact the natural beauty of the region and how their efforts influenced policy. This assignment provides a blueprint of how to effectively advance views in matters of public policy.

Lesson Objectives: Students will examine what strategies and techniques Marquette residents utilized in order to raise awareness and inspire residents to take action against a proposed campground at Little Presque Isle.
Students will critically analyze primary sources by determining the purpose of the document and identifying any bias that the creator may possess or convey.
